Heraeus Limited, incorporated in Hong Kong in 1974, is a member of the Heraeus Group specializing in the precious metals business. The principal activities in Hong Kong are the refining, trading, manufacturing and marketing of precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium and ruthenium either as pure metals or as products.
As the regional leader in processing and refining of precious metals (Recycling Division), Heraeus operates, at their Heraeus Technology Centre in Fanling, the largest and most modern refinery in Hong Kong, and recovers precious metals scrap from across the Asia-Pacific region generated by the jewellery, electronic, electrical, dental, decorative, plating and mining industries. Heraeus also produces various precious metal containing chemical products and precious metal catalysts (Chemical Products Division), accepted by a wide range of industries, particularly the petrochemical, chemical, plating, electronic, pharmaceutical and automotive industries. The business also encompasses the production of a full range of fabricated precious metal products, and semifinished products for the jewellery industry (Semifinished Jewellery Division). In addition, Heraeus produces and markets materials to the electronic industry (Contact Materials Division) for surface mount technology (SMT), and offers ceramic decorative materials (Ceramic Colours Division) to the glass, ceramic, porcelain and tile industry. Heraeus operates a comprehensive precious metal trading service (Trading Division), which in conjunction with its offices in Germany and the USA, offer a 24-hour metal pricing and precious metal management service to its customers around the world.
